Let’s address the title of the book. Why is the book called Transformational Discipleship? (Eric) Each of the words in the title is significant. Every person in the world is a disciple because everyone follows someone or something. That’s what a disciple is – a follower. But while every person is a disciple, not every person is transformed. A Christian's desire to grow in faith is beautiful and biblical, best illustrated in Jeremiah 17 where Scripture describes “The man who trusts in the LORD” as being “like a tree planted by water It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit.”But how do people really grow? Transformational Discipleship describes the process that brings to life that kind of person 5/5(2).

Like all the releases in the Disciples Path series. The Call uses teaching, questions, conversation, exercise, and individual study to facilitate transformational discipleship.

As you work through this story, you will: Gain a greater understanding of discipleship by examining the way Jesus discipled.

We created Transformational Discipleship to help answer that question. It does not provide a magic formula. But it does offer a combination of biblical understanding, solid research, and the experience of churches and individuals who have wholeheartedly answered the call of Jesus to be and make disciples.

Transformational Church is an important book that will help Pastors and ministry leaders struggling with disciple making to learn not just the importance of making disciples but also how to make disciples through active biblical engagement and dependence on the Lord Jesus/5(51).

Using the underlying research, a framework of discipleship leading to a "transformational sweet spot" was developed by Eric Geiger, Michael Kelley and Nation. The three authors collaborated on the book Transformational Discipleship: How People Really Grow released earlier in May.

In his most recent book, Transforming Discipleship, he reveals the foundation and vision. Based on a creative and stimulating triad model, Greg provides a vehicle that will guide the training of leaders who in turn will equip the church and individuals for a life of transformational discipleship/5(57).

Book Review: Transformational Discipleship. The three authors are all part of LifeWay. Eric Geiger is the vice president of Church Resources, Michael Kelley is the director of Discipleship and Philip Nation is director of Ministry Development.

All three men have written previous popular Christian books. Ted Travis has written a book that has been long overdue. He has thought intently, theologically, philosophically and practically about the depths of what it means to empower our youth in the urban community through a transformational discipleship approach to urban youth development.

Earlier this year, Philip Nation, Michael Kelley, and I coauthored Transformational on the research behind the book, we discovered that transformation is most likely to occur in the life of a believer when the person has truth applied to his heart by godly leaders while in a teachable posture.

Transformational Discipleship: How People Really Grow: Geiger, Eric: Books - (61). Transformational Discipleship (Geiger, Kelley, Nation), is a follow-up of sorts to another book published by the Lifeway Research group called Transformational Church. I especially recommend this book for church leaders hoping to implement disciple-making strategies in the local church.
